Scott Pilgrim vs the World?


Wanting to see this movie in the theatre but missing it on every occasion, the time finally came to watch the much anticipated Scott Pilgrim VS. The World.  With no friends who watched this movie I was left on my own how exactly the movie would hold up.  Through the media I learned the movie was to be good but not great.  There were no rave reviews, no large fanfare to be heard of.  How would this hold up against the ever popular graphic novel?

Here's a movie that starts out slow but picks it up at just the right time - just before the bail out marker.  This movie revved its engine and sped away heading off towards the finish line with a mix of edgy teenage drama and that tone of leave-you-wanting-more off the cuff humor.  You know the stuff you try to remember to reverberate back at your friends and colleagues at a later date and time?! This movie proved to be much better than expected.

The rundown: boy meets girl, boy screws up supposed best ever relationship of all time, boy snatches victory from the jaws of defeat winning the girl over in the nick of time or the closing credits obviously.  Typical boy meets girl flick but with a not so average twist, kick ass action scenes, powered by heart pounding rock and roll leaving you easily reminded of Death From Above 1979 but grimier?  I'm almost hearing a lil QOTSA.  I must remember to look for the soundtrack!

All in all SPVTW proves to be a come from behind winner.  After almost passing on it, this flick left me pleasantly surprised.  Do yourself a favor and watch it.  If you know, knew, or somehow want to know me you would watch this movie. Veird eh?!  Not every good movie does well at the box office.  Go fig you make a lot of money but does every big hit have to be a hit at the box office? Then again what do I know?  Do you self a favor and watch this film, its worth a laugh or two.
